Mills River Storage Center rents self storage units in Mills River, NC ranging from 5×5 (25 sq ft) up to 10×30 (300 sq ft), plus outdoor parking spaces for boats and RVs up to 40 feet. Every unit is ground-level with drive-up access. All units are month-to-month with no security deposit, every new tenant's second month is free, and all tenants have 24-hour access to their unit. Units are not climate controlled.

Not sure which one you need? Call the office and describe what you're putting in it. The manager has watched move-ins since 1998 and can usually tell you the right size in about a minute — including when a smaller unit will do and save you money.
How to pick
Choosing a size without guessing
A few rules of thumb that hold up:
- One bedroom of furniture generally needs about 50 sq ft (5×10).
- A washer, dryer and refrigerator together eat roughly a third of a 10×10 before anything else goes in.
- If you need to walk in and get to things, size up one step. An aisle costs less than a wasted Saturday unloading the whole unit.
- Stacking height is free space. Most people use half the vertical room they're paying for.
- Storing seasonally? Put what you'll want first nearest the door and you can size down.
